Sneezing chickens but I'm leaving town.

@azygous

I ordered the tyclosin 500 powder you linked on another thread. It was from Homelab Vet. I received a refund last night so I went to check my orders and found they are stopping all shipments for now 🤷
Do you have another link or knowledge about where I can order from?

Thanks!

It still sounds like infectious bronchitis to me, but sometimes it can be hard to tell that from a mild strain of MG. If you want to use Tylosin powder in the water, in case of MG, you can get that here:
https://jedds.com/products/tylosin-powder
Dosage is 1 tsp per gallon of water for 5 days.

If you would like to get testing to see what they have, you can get that through your local or state vet. Also Zoologix lab in CA will send you swabs to do a PCR test for up to 8 avian respiratory diseases. Here is where to contact them for information:

Thank you! I am going to order it now and got to thinking about my emergency care kit. I have started one that currently consists of calcium, vit e, vit b and electrolytes but I'm sure there are other items that I should have.
Are there any other meds that are good to have on hand and can order from here while I'm at it?

Jedds sells many other medicines including enrofloxacin 10%, Medicox (nystatin) for sour crop, sulfa antibiotics and others. I don’t recommend buying too many things ahead of time because of expiration dates, but just knowing where to find them. I do think that getting some 2% chlorhexidene and Triple Antibiotic Ointment for treatment of wounds is a good thing. Those can be found online or locally.

Hi - I had a hen start sneezing and I new she had gotten out in the rain 2 days before. I knew she was sick, isolated her and brought her into my bathroom in a large tub. I tried some liquid drench in water and warmth first. Did not work so I had to start Penicillin. I divided the tablet and crushed the dose and mixed into finely chopped grape and lettuce. She gobbled it down. I kept it up for 4 days and she is fine now. Dosage for Penicillin / Amoxicillin is 125/ day for 3-4 days. My tabs were 250 so I cut them in half then crush them into a powder.

I'm glad she is feeling better! And I'm sure she enjoyed the warmth and yummy treats too.

Unfortunately, we are allergic to penicillins/amoxicillin so none in this house.

Ok, so I'm really not website savvy nor good at ordering online. But I cannot find the kit to buy for the respiratory panel on that website. I do see shipping instructions and a form to fill out and send in with a check.
I'm just missing on where to purchase the swabs and the leak proof packaging they are referring to🤷

Sometimes I feel the need to apologize for my lack of common sense, or whatever it is that you need for technology. :barnie

I have not ordered the testing before, but I would call or email them to ask how to get the avian respiratory panel kit and instructions. Here is the phone number at the bottom:
