Sneezing Chickens

Some show no symptoms some just die some have cold like symptoms.

My chick has been this way for.....a week or more at least. Not lethal? Not getting worse...

Is this chick sick or just sneezing, iyo? Treat it with something?

I have a hen that is sneezing like crazy- My small flock is all old ladies (the eldest are 6 yrs old, the youngest 3 yrs old- this is one of the younger gals) No discharge, eating, maybe slightly slower moving, but not terribly so. I was out there doing their second dose of worming with Ivermectin/Safeguard on bread for each girl today when I noticed this new symptom.

I'd love to know dosing and method for GSE- That seems like something I could do.

I only have 5 chickens, but no way to separate or isolate my sick gal right now as I have parrots inside and cannot risk cross contamination.

Ok so I am frustrated & confused....have searched this site for awhile. If a chick has no symptoms but at times is sneezing frequently, is it an issue, or not? Sometimes she also shakes her head, but that is rare. No discharge. No other issues. Normal chick otherwise.

It seems as though there is plenty of advice for dosing my chicken with things, that may or may not help, for an unspecified issue, but so far no one has said, "yes, your chicken has a disease" or not.

My other chicks sneeze at times, but that is what I would call normal I believe for chicks just given dried mealworms in dusty pine shavings before they drink.

I am dosing flock with electrolytes and probiotics/acv as a precaution. . I have Oregon grape root, an antimicrobial/antibiotic listed as killing MRSA, but am unclear if my chick could use some, needs to dewormed, or what? Furthermore it takes 6 weeks to turn my Oregon grape root into a liquid for dosing. Unless I just decide to add to boiling water (less potent). It is also something that I am unclear as to how to do and in what dosage for a chick.

Ok. So i have one chicken NOT sneezing now that was previously sneezing frequently, and one who is now sneezing and shaking head with snot coming out. What to so? Antibiotic? I dont know that isolation is realistic, these are chicks that are 5-6 weeks living in a brooder together. If one has it, the others are already exposed. Have heard them all sneezing to one degree or another, but ,most are not sneezing frequently, and some have stopped sneezing.
But this one chicken that is slinging snot is sicker than The rest by far.

I put probiotics and electrolytes in water. I read a post about injecting 1/2-1/4cc tylan 50 into breat, but what is the dose for a chick? Will that kill a bird? Is better in water?

Some of my chickies got a sneeze/ cold at 4 weeks. They infected each other very quickky. Some got over it very rapidly but with two chicks its lasted much longer. The mothers didnt have any problem.

They never get antibiotics because I heard and believe that you get weak chickens when doing so. Never give the whole flock antibiotics, if you do want to help it is better to give it only to the sick ones.

My chickies got over it at last ( after 4 weeks). The sneezing stopt earlyer but the weekest chick stil had moments when it breeded with open mouth.
The two chickis that had a cold for several weeks grew slow. And are smaller then the stronger chicks.
