Sneezing Chicks!

One of my 2.5 week old chicks is sneezing. Is it because of the pine shavings used for his/her bedding?

It could be because of the oil in the shavings ....

I try to use sand from the yard myself ...

is there any smoke around the chicks from any kink of burning ????

No smoke or drafts. Just checked on them, didn't hear any sneezes while sitting by them for 15 minutes.

We've got one chick (out of 8) that has been sneezing for about 2 weeks. None of the other chicks sneeze, and she hasn't gotten any worse. I've read that it is probably allergies. We switched to hay bedding so I'm assuming she is allergic to hay. Once they move to the coop they'll be on different bedding so maybe the sneezing will go away. You might want to change bedding to something else like shredded paper.

Sometimes I put Echinacea in the water of sneezing chickens as it is
natural and wont harm them and you can find it in a Wal-Mart store
in the vitamin section .....

Just open the capsule and add contents to the water .....

We moved our chicks outside where they have wood pellet bedding instead of hay. No more sneezing! They do miss their hay, but they are really enjoying free ranging in the lawn.
