Sneezing hen with stuffy sounding nose

I’m going to do it orally. I’m so sorry but where on this oral syringe would this need to be? I’m horrible at measurements

Are you using the Tylan 50? How much does she weigh? What breed? If she weighs 5 pounds, give 1 and 1/4 ml, or 1.25 ml The syringe you are showing is a 1 ml syringe. The dosage is 0.25 ml or 1/4 ml per pound. 0.25 is between 0.2 and 0.3.

You will need to decide if you are going to use the oxytet or the Tylan 50. Both can treat respiratory diseases (MG) but they have to drink enough of the medicated water.

She’s a Rhode Island Red hen, she’s on the smaller side. I can weight her though. I’m going to go get it first thing in the morning, they are about to close. Ok, thank you so much, my mom was even puzzled on the syringe :bow anytime one of my animals gets sick it turns me into a nut :(

You can hold her with you standing on scales, then subtract your weight to get hers. Or use a kitchen scale to weigh her.

Thanks @Eggcessive! So I know she’s had some oxytetracycline in her this evening in her drinking water. Will she be fine when I give her the tylan 50 tomorrow? Didn’t want to give her an interaction between the two different antibiotics.

If she drinks, you can let her take the oxytet, just don’t do both. One or the other, but both treat MG. If she stops drinking tomorrow or the next day, start the Tylan.

The others are drinking it too, is that ok? Ok, thank you so much! I hope she starts sounding better ):

I usually prefer to only treat chickens with symptoms, but many vets will prescribe medicine for the whole flock to drink at once if more than one is getting sick.

@Eggcessive is this the kind I can give orally or does it need to be the powder? Thanks!!
