Sneezing hen with stuffy sounding nose

I usually prefer to only treat chickens with symptoms, but many vets will prescribe medicine for the whole flock to drink at once if more than one is getting sick.
Oh crap, I thought 50 was the milligram, didn’t realize it was the name :barnie so what does the milligram need to be?

Yes that is the right Tylan 50. The dosage is the same as posted—0.25 ml per pound. It can be given orally or by injection. It has to be used with a needle and syringe to withdraw it, and remove the needle to give it orally. There is also Tylan 200 which is 4 times stronger and for use in larger animals. Tylan Soluble Powder is not available without a prescription.

Ok I’m about to go do this, I bought a 3ml syringe, please forgive me but where exactly on this syringe does it needs to be at? I have 0sepf confidence in myself when it comes to this stuff. I’m so fearful of hurting her

How much does she weigh? If she weighs 5 pounds and the dosage is 1 1/4 ml, you want to draw the plunger back between 1 and 1 1/2.

Here is a YouTube vieo that may help with using a syringe:

She weighs exactly 5.5 pounds @Eggcessive . I looked everywhere for a video, thank you so much! When should we see improvement in her you think? I have no idea what it could be because she acts fine other than the rattled breathing. Other hen is showing symptoms now.

Hopefully in a few days. If she has MG, the Tylan can treat that. If ahe has a virus, she may have it for a few weeks. Here is a link with common disease symptoms, so look at infectious bronchitis, ILT, mycoplasma or MG, and infectious coryza which are some of the usual ones seen in chickens.
