sneezing hen

A hen I mine as I have just discovered has black spots on her wattle and on the tips of her comb. She is also sneezing a lot. Her wattle and comb also seems dry I have no idea what is going on all I know is I don't want to lose my baby girl. PLEASE HELP

Watch her for other respiratory symptoms--nasal or eye drainage, swelling of face or eyes, eye bubbles, and acting very tired. I can't see any spots in the picture. Some very black spots can be peck marks, but beige to black spots can indicate dry fowl pox. The dry form is is from mosquito bites, will spread through the flock, is not serious, and lasts for several weeks, but the wet form can get into the mouth and throat causing breathing problems and death. Check inside her mouth and look for hard, yellow pus.

Thanks for the help guys but I have my hen with me now and her breathing sounds wheezy I'm worried

Look for abnormal droppings.

Palpate the crop.

Open the mouth and look for plaques. Swab trachea with Q-tip to look for phlegm. Also look for excess mucus, any mucus coming from down from the choana.

Also look for any of the things mentioned in post #2 of this thread.

What antibiotics do you have access to?

Really none I these are my first chickens and I don't k ow what's going on

Also her droppings change all the time one second they will b firm the next like liquid

This isn't Kathy, but yellow patches inside the beak can be a sign of wet fowl pox, especially if there is dry pox scabs around the comb or wattles. Can you post a picture of your chicken? Peck marks can look very black and small or large, while fowl pox can look biege, tan, or dark brown. Does she only sneeze at night? Is there any nasal drainage or watery eyes?
