My 1 year old flock seems sick.. Well 3 of the 11. They are a closed off flock. Dont free range etc. bought as babies.
No new food. No new bedding. Weather jas been dry, warm/humid for a few days then it gets cold.
No visable discharge anywhere.
Still eating, drinking, laying and are active.
Talk to my chicken savy feed store girl and bought tetrycycline (think it has oxy in the front of it) she told me not to eat the eggs while treating or for two weeks after.
I started treating as soon as I got home. I added 1 ounce per 1 gallon ( plz advise if i need more or less) along with some electyrolites as its been really hot here last two days.
Anything thing else I can do?
I do have a pen of babies ( almost 3 months) at the other end of my yard and even smaller babies in my house. All healthy.

Awesome.. Thanks for the advice! Have a great evening everyone!

Can someone please advise?!??
How long do I wait to start treating with a different med if this one doesnt help?
When should I notice improvements??
All are still activly being chickens..
Other than the sneezing, shaking/itching at head, wheezy..
Still no signs of drainage.

How would they even catch a virus being only chickens around?? Local birds? Critters etc??

Are they yellow around the eyes and teary looking? We lost 2 birds this month with a respiratory illness. We treated with Tylan 50 - injected once a day for 7 days. The five that also had it are well now. At its worst, the illness affected one bird until it sneezed and blood sprayed the bird next to it.

No. Ive been keeping a close eye on them.
No drainage at all. Maybe it will develop later?
The one austrolorpe started a day or so before the others.
They seem no worse today or better.
I will try the tylan if no better tom.
Thank you so much for replying.
