I noticed today when I was cleaning the coop one of my hens was sneezing and got worse. Now it’s night time and I have 3 or 4 that’s sneezing! Is it because I cleaned the coop today and stirred up everything or should I be worried. A few of them have wet beaks. I took the one that was originally sneezing loud and quarantined here and started Tylan 50. What can I give the rest of my flock so this doesn’t continue. They are all eating and drinking as normal.

Have you had respiratory illness within your flock before?

What's the ventilation like in your coop?
The sneezing could be due to your stirring everything up today and the coop not being well ventilated. Hard to know.

No I’ve never had any issues that’s the reason I panicked first and foremost. It’s rained for a couple days here and it’s not ever rained since I had my flock since June, I thought that might have been an issue to. I’ve checked on them this morning and they all seem to be fine but they are all still roosting and for the most part sleeping. No running nose like yesterday and no one sneezing.

Most likely just stirring everything up. I usually clean in the mornings and have to make sure everyone's outside for the day otherwise some end up sneezing when I'm cleaning out everything. I usually wear a mask myself otherwise I end up sneezing all day too.

The one that was sneezing really bad I quarantine and she isn’t sneezing or wheezing anymore. But I did start Tylan 50 yesterday and she is eating and drinking. I went out there this morning and I have another one shaking her head and sneezing. I took her out and have her quarantined as well. She is still sneezing, wheezing and standing with her eyes closed some of the time. So I started her on Tylan 50.

So they were not sneezing this morning while in the coop, but no you have another one that is sneezing and wheezing?

Tylan50 can be given orally instead of by injection since that would be a lot of needle sticks. Dose for Tylan50 is 0.25ml per pound of weight given orally 3 times a day for 5 days in a row.
