Hi everyone!

I have a sneezing chicken. Before you say respiratory illness hear me out.

This chicken has NO other symptoms. NONE. She just sneezes! Every little bit AH-choo!

No watery eyes - no runny nose - no discharge - no cough - no wheeze - nada/nope/uh uh.

I did treat her a week ago with DE for a small amount of lice. I used it sparingly, and carefully. Sneeze came after so I suspect it is related. Though I would assume now that it's been a week, it would of stopped.

Opinions greatly appreciated. Please be kind.

I'd bet the DE has caused some irritation somewhere in her and she is sneezing from it.

That is my guess as well. Must be only in the sinus cavity though, since no cough. I'm hoping it will clear out... its been a week though.

Just look out for other birds sneezing. Infectious bronchitis, a virus that is the most common respiratory disease in chickens, can cause sneezing, and may spread throughout the flock over several weeks. Maintain good overhead air ventilation in your coop, and prevent any wet, moldy, or dusty conditions. Dust in feed can also cause sneezing at mealtime. I would get rid of the DE.
