hello rebalcowboy, what part of GA? IM in west central GA, close to bargain and lockedheart. 10/4 on playing in the snow. caring for the farm has been rough the last 5 or 6 days know. it did get warmer this morning but we are paying for it now

We are at three (3) degrees right now. Snow? It's a layer of crunch and danger here. DH must go to the coops himself and I'm afraid he'll slip-we're on a mtn and it's downhill to the coops. Last January, I broke my ankle sliding on wet leaves in the snow. This year, it's much worse out there than then. The snow can't melt off at these temps.

Dont know what the temp is this morning but for the first time in my life the heater cant keep my house warm. It wide open an I'm still freezing. An its snowing again. Now we are hearing about a propain shortage. We are a 20% now an it may take a week to get more. My math says that 20% may last us 6 days at this temp..... The wood heater my sister said she had may find its way to my house.

Added: The radio is reporting 9*F in the vally an we are something like 3000 feet above them. So um yea, cold Georgia morning.

For the people who got snow down south you have my deepest sympathies NOT! I know it is not funny but it is rather commical to see others slipping sliding while driving on the ice. I know you don't have the experience or hardware to deal with this. Take this tip from a old fogey who has lived through 3 MAJOR Michigan bizzards drive SLOWLY around 25 mph. Believe me there are plenty of people here that don't drive safely.

Actually, this is good for the apples and peaches. They need so many hours of cold weather to bloom well, below 45 degrees Fahrenheit, to produce fruit and stay healthy. So, maybe the upside is that I'll have a good number of apples this year, as long as a very late frost doesn't kill the buds when they emerge.
