THE storm is currently hitting us. Girls were out this morning. Inside coop now but I noticed the snow is blowing inside the door. I worry about moisture inside. Am I overthinking this?

i found some snow had blown in on one corner. however, it’s so cold it’s not going to melt for a while. i figure i’ll take care of it when the wind stops blowing but before it melts. i’d just scoop out any large amounts and deal with it later. if you have scrap wood or something, you could lean it against the outside of the door to prevent as much blowing in.

Ugh. I'm struggling to block it. I propped up a sled and weighed it down, but it keeps getting blown over. Way more snow inside than there was this morning. :barnie

I found snow in my coop as well and on the chickens there are inside. I have some hunkered down outside that aren’t wanting to go I to the coop. I even moved their water I side for the day because it’s freezing as soon as I break it. But I put plastic over the places the snow is being blown in. But I’m leaving the top of the plastic covering the ventilation open. So that way there is still a way for air flow to the ventilation without the snow coming in but helping keep out the snow. It is a lot for me too. I just don’t want to loose any animals to this extreme weather we are getting.

Yeah, I blocked most of the window on the north side, but snow still blew in. I can't imagine they will come out again. We've gotten several inches of snow. Temp is below zero now.

If the snow inside is still solid (either as ice or snow), I would scoop up as much as possible and toss it out. I don't suppose you have a tarp, old sheets, burlap, anything you could throw over the problem area (you said door, but not sure if it's coming through gaps around the door, or through an open window in the door)? I had a little in my coop this morning, but such a small amount it shouldn't be an issue.

Ours is too. Windchill has is at -27 degrees. We didn’t get that much snow, they predicted 3-5 inches and we didn’t get even an inch. According to the hourly forecast we won’t get any more snow. I guess we will see what happens
