I read with great interest your description of your predator proof chicken run - given your location - 60 miles north of Detroit and given that the run's roof consisted of 1/2" hardware cloth - was snow buildup an issue?
If you're trying to get a snow load for your coop, or figure out what you need for a new one this should give you more info. https://www.buildingsguide.com/calculators/structural/ASCE705S/
It's a plug and play calculator for roofing. It is for solid material so may be higher than actual use when it comes to mesh or other open material. But I would calculate as a solid roof for worst case scenario. A heavy or wet snowfall will build up on hardware cloth. Hopefully some of this helps.
