Snow-proofing the coop

Wow! Do you drive a 4 wheeler to get to your coop? I'm fascinated by what you poultry owners up north have to deal with during the winter! You would laugh at me wearing my hunting coveralls breaking the cows trough water & doing my chicken chores & fussing about how I'm going to die in 20* weather in North Texas!
I am not much of a photographer. From the back door to the coop is about a hundred feet. I think all cold is relative. For us, -2f is really cold. For folks in more northern areas, that is no big deal.

Back to the snow, today it was sunny and the chickens roamed in the run. They passed at venturing out of the run. Had to use a hammer and chisel to break ice from the run door. It was preventing it from closing.

I thought of you as I walked to my chickens today. It felt so good, it had warmed up to 20 degrees, so I only wore a sweater!

We have been darn cold for nearly two weeks.

Goodness sake! I'm glad you ....(making a weird face)....warmed up. (20* weather is in the "weather advisory warning" range in my book). Hope spring comes quickly for y'all.
