Actually, if our norther neighbors are like us, in the summer we actually have MORE daylight hours than you do. And we have Northern Lights

Only problem with them is that the spectacular ones usually show up in the winter so you freeze watching them.
 
Four inches of new snow on top of the 2 feet from last week, lightly dressed with 7 hours of freezing rain. The branches are all frosted and lovely, except when they break off the trees and brain us/block the driveway/wipe out the power. Our electricity has been flickering since about 5:30 pm and I think it'll be gone for real before the night is over.

Up until recently, we had not had one drop of moisture since AUGUST. Then we got about 4 inches New Years Eve (day). That lasted a bit, then a week later we got a bit more. Yesterday it rained, and almost all the snow is gone except for the higher drifted spots.
