Hi everyone! Please give me to low down on having a flock and getting snow? Is snow unsafe for ducks to be in?

My ducks love snow. They even take baths in their pool while its snowing and freezing. They dont care. I think their duck feathers keep them warm and dry. They have a shelter obviously if they want to get out of the weather.

My chickens hate it and refuse to come out of their coop!

As long as they have somewhere dry to go they will be totally fine! Mine just enjoyed some snow day fun yesterday! They go out and bill around in the snow for a while then run back quacking loudly to their dry "safe zone"

My ducks love it too but spend alot more time inside and they mess the coop alot more

when it stops snowing and the weather is clear for awhile i throw some hay down in the the run so they have some spots to lay down

2 years ago we got 18" which is really weird for us but my runners were like little snow plows going through it to get to their pool. They didn't mind it at all.

My ducks like snow; I think it’s evil. Wind and snow may keep them in their house though. I shovel them a path. Little webby prints in the snow are adorable too!

I love that picture! I guess when we had our big snow a couple of years ago I didn't take any pictures of the ducks in it. I can't believe I didn't!

Frostbite is a definite issue with snow. Fun pictures of them running through it..
I definitely keep my pens snow free and have straw down to huddle into. My Ducks have access to outdoors that are covered from wind and snow. Definitely they can freeze their feet. Heard lots of awful stories about frozen feet.

Great point @chickens really, I always keep the run door open, which is clear of snow, and they have access to their houses. If they start standing on one foot and alternating I’ll usually put them inside.
