So… The Weather

I always like talking about interesting weather and comparing weather to others around the world!

Currently, here, it’s raining sideways, cold, and letting out long low thunder rumbles. i saw a brilliant blue forked lightning come down out of a cloud, through my window. Since I am a grown man, I will not go cuddle my ducklings for comfort, I will not!

After having to switch the a/c on today because it was quite warm, I just had to turn my heat on after noticing that it's 66° in the house right now. The wind was whipping a few hours ago while I was locking everyone up and I'm guessing it was blowing a cold front in as well as a thick coating of pollen EVERYWHERE . I'm in Central NC, so winter is fairly mild but summer is a hot humid yucky mess. Spring is usually a warning season for what lies ahead plus pollen, LOTS of pollen. Fall is just another name for summer but with pumpkin spice flavored everything

Still not cuddling those ducks ?

Spring is always unpredictable in Iowa, but this is the craziest I can ever remember. It's like a pendulum swinging from one extreme to the other -- 70 degrees for a few days, then snow and hail, high winds for a few days. Today, it looks lovely out -- but it's only just reached above freezing a few hours ago. It was 29 overnight.

Yesterday, the wind -- which always blows in flat, north central Iowa -- was so strong it took one of the downspouts off my house. I could actually feel the wind vibrating through the main floor of my old farmhouse. That wasn't really conducive to a good night's sleep.

Hope Ohio (and Iowa) starts to show some NORMAL spring weather soon!

Tornadoes yesterday, beautiful blue skies today with wind gusts around 30 mph. Perfect kite flying weather!

We had Taste of Spring last week. Right now we have Regression into Winter #5. Low of 17 forecast for Sunday night.

Well, it's keeping the buds from blossoming too early, at least.
