So Annoying

So I've looked around and everywhere it says to separate your broodies so that there is not a staggered hatch and all that stuff. But everytime I do it my broodies decide not to brood the eggs! They do their fast "bok bok bok" in a nervous way, like they want to return to the flock... It is so annoying! What should I do? I do move them at night, but the next morning tey are right back doing their "bok bok boks". Also I do provide food, water, a very private nesting box with eggs.

Separating isn't necessary, just more convenient and simpler, so if she won't go for it, don't worry.

Personally, my broody is separated off with her buddy, Odin the one eyed coop auntie, to keep her company. It seems to work great and Odin lays eggs in an adjacent nest, so you may try giving her a friend.

Edit: One more note, if she's only just started, you might give her a day or two to get really settled into the broodiness :)

I actually have 2 broodies that I separated, but one pecks the other, even though they are sisters. They were already broody for 3 days, but I got tired of having to move them to get the unmarked eggs. I’ll see what I can do.
