I have a subset of my Huastec Rapanui flock I would like to rehome, this is an interesting and versatile landrace fowl originating in Mexico, and is a part of the Rapanui/Olmec genetic complex. They are robust medium-sized birds and are decent layers of medium sized cream eggs. These beautiful birds have a phenomenal temperament and great survival instincts! The typical Huastec will be crested and have a high tail carriage, but due to their landrace status come in assorted variation.

These are pretty hard to come by, so this is a great chance to start breeding some rare and versatile chickens with a unique cultural heritage. The Huastec is perfect for a sustainable and self-sufficient chicken flock! Predator savvy, decent layers, and a good size. This is a breed that needs more people as stewards for their long term conservation as they are in steep decline! A thoroughly interesting chicken, one of my favorites that I have come to own.

I am looking for a good home for these birds and am willing to drive to get them to the right person.
I can also offer hatching eggs!

Kermit sent me two roosters and two hens last fall, one rooster looks identical to your big guy! My roosters have done their job and the early hatches are now maturing - mostly cockerels!. I would consider sharing one of my hens from previous hatchings with one of the new roosters.
