My 10 year old came running in to me tonight telling me that she thought she saw one of the eggs moving in the incubator, so I got up to go look, and sure enough, one was moving around! Sure is a feisty little chick in there! I was so excited I called my mother into the room to look, and had someone been there with a camera, we'd have looked like a bunch of fools standing there with our faces pressed to the window on the top, staring at the eggs, lol. I candled them the other day and out of 9, only two for sure had veins. A few were too thick to see through and the rest were clear. This is my first hatch so I didn't have the heart to toss the infertile ones. I'll patiently wait until the 27th when they are due and I will toss them along with any others that don't hatch. I just thought that was the coolest thing ever getting to see the eggs moving. I can't wait for the 27th to come! They should hatch that night, or over night into the morning of the 28th as I put the eggs into the bator on the evening of the of the 6th I think it was. The room is dark so I can't see the calendar. But they are suppose to hatch the 27th. I think I will be plastering my face to the window of the bator more frequently now, lol. I just wanted to share my joy.

Congratulations! You must be very excited!
Not much longer now... I expect if you're seeing movement already, the chicks may hatch a little early.
Good Luck!

listen and you may hear some very faint peeps.

We have fans on full blast in the house, I couldn't hear a bull dozer if it drove right through my living room! Lol! But do you really think they might hatch early? That would be great! I'm so excited!

its possible. my eggs started wiggling and the next day they hatched

yes that is a little early but if your eggs are already wiggling then more than likely you will have an early hatch

If the eggs are moving around, should I still be turning them regularly, or should I stop? I kept going and peeking at them last night, and several times today to see if maybe someone was hatching, but so far nothing. My older daughter swears she heard one peeping in the egg, but I didn't hear anything. I'm not saying she didn't hear it, I'm just saying that I didn't hear it. It's 4 days til they are due to hatch. My kids are as excited as I am. They can't wait for them to hatch. They alternate between staring into the incubator and checking the calendar. I think they will be standing by the bator all day on the 27th in anticipation. Unfortunately I have to work that day. I hope they wait until I'm home from work, or hatch before I have to leave! Only 4 days to go... :

Oooh!!! That's so exciting! My first batch of eggs are due on the 27th too! And on top of that, it's my birthday then, too.

But I didn't see any movement yet. I use an egg turner so I guess it would be hard to see any movement in the little egg cups. I'm going to take it out tomorrow, day 18!
We should wait together, I'm a nervous wreck waiting for them! By the way, I'm trying to hatch out 11 Silkie chicks.

I'm so anxious..

Good luck!!

I'd say if they're moving, don't turn them. Usually when the egg rocks it's because the chick is getting into position to hatch!!
Good Luck!
