I just candled my 18 bantam frizzle cochin eggs that are on day 7 and out of the 18 only two have anything that look like it could possibly be a beginning of a chick. Everything else just floated around like floating yolk. On top of all this my hen who was just broody this past April is now (after we went away for a couple of days and she had an excess of eggs laying around by her) has decided to go broody again and I have had to lock her up seperately because I don't want her taking up a nesting box for no reason and she is one mean broody. I don't even have any eggs for her to sit on and the only eggs that I could quickly get ahold of would be all mutts and I don't need any of those. So needless to say I am really depressed. Wish I could get me some more frizzle eggs.

Justusnak: I live in northern Florida. I got my eggs from a guy here in Florida so was hoping that they would make the hot weather okay, but who knows what happened.

We only removed four that we knew for sure were not viable just by looking at them and they were definite no's. The rest we are leaving in just in case they are viable eggs and we will check them again next week and see what we have then. I am still so disappointed as I have been wanting frizzles for forever and I finally got the go ahead from my husband to get these eggs and now look what happens (especially after spending so much money on the eggs). Maybe next spring I will try again.

Next spring!!! Why wait??? Stick some more in now with this group! Sounds like you could get some from someone on this board!!!
