Hi

My name is Barbara. I live in the North East of the UK and I've recently got back into keeping chickens after a few years off..... A fox picked them off one at a time whilst they were free ranging at my stable yard during the day the last time.
Anyway, I am so excited about my new acquisitions and am frantically building a hen ark as they are currently housed in a spare stable. Sadly I dare not let them free range again as the fox risk is still high.

I have a trio of exchequor (sp?) leghorns, a pair of leg bars, a Rhode Island red, a blue haze and two hybrids. They are just starting to come into lay and I am rediculously thrilled when I find an egg in the nest box.

I also keep horses, bees and cats and I've recently discovered "lasagne gardening", which I'm finding very interesting.

I will be posting some questions about worming in the appropriate section very shortly. It is something I didn't get the chance to do last time, but just really wanted to say "hello" in this thread.

Best wishes to everyone and their chickens and many thanks for the info I have obtained from the site so far.

Regards

Barbara
