So far I love ducks.

I love our ducks -- they are so much more suited to our climate then chickens. And they are funny to watch, don't fly over fences, and eat slugs . . .

I don't find much difference in the taste of our home free ranged duck eggs versus our home free ranged chicken eggs, but someone who is used to the cheap store eggs would probably find them too strong. If you make sure the ducks don't have access to fish, and the ducks are fed a nice layer feed, their eggs should taste close to the same.

I was thinking about getting my ducks some minnows to put in their kiddie pool....Just kinda a fun thing to watch them dive after them, but you said if they have access to fish their eggs taste different? What do they taste like? Just stronger?

Duck eggs are much richer and creamier (for lack of a better word) than store bought eggs. To get used to them we just scrambled them and used them for baking. Now we love them and eat them fried, in omelets, when we make asian food.....just for everything! We always give some to our neighbors and they LOVE them. They're much healthier than store bought eggs too. Lower bad cholesterol, higher good, and contains something like 87% of your daily vitamin B12, I believe.
