So few Eggs!!!!! HELP

Thanks to everyone for the insight. I feel like I am being impatient. I will start looking at it as a time of rest for them and feel better about it. I want the best for my girls.

Yah, you're not alone.
First winter I haven't used lights.
Some of my molters are back laying.
Some of my pullets are still laying.
Some of my pullets are molting.
Some of my pullets haven't started laying yet.
I am getting just enough salable eggs to cover feed costs.

Egglaying is slow as molasses here, too. Of approx 22 hens of laying age, I've been getting between 7 and 10 (on the high side) a day. Some days, I get 5. The girls have been in various stages of molt and the weather has been all over the place. I'm just imagining what it's going to be like in spring...and my ducks will begin laying then, too...I'll be flush with eggs! But not now.

You're not alone! This is our hen's second winter and laying has slowed to a crawl the past couple of months. No eggs this past week at all (we have 6 girls). I finally broke down and bought eggs today. Our weather has been crazy, warmer than usual and rainy, not much sun. No illness or parasites.

Same here, I got 17 pullets (9 months old) that started laying in July, some took vacay on laying. I only get 6 to 9 eggs a day. My 2 year old hens are all on egg laying breaks.

My girls stopped laying completely a couple months ago. They are nearly 2 years old. The leghorn was the last to begin molting. Also have 5 pullets that are nearly 5 months old. Combs are still pale on the old girls and the new ones. Figure they'll start to lay again the end of February. Have just bought some 21% protein feed to help them get started again.

Can't imagine not having eggs & feeding all those chickens. I have 12- 2 year old red sex links & haven't gone below 5 eggs. Now back up to 7 most days. They have been molting. I didn't turn lights on like normal this year. They were down to about 10 hours of light at one point & now I am increasing. These girls have out done themselves. JMHO
