Were they all in one pen? The reason I ask is I have one of the automatic chicken waterers...the red ones that you attach to a water line or I guess you could use a hose and it refills the red bowl as they drink it. I bought it, opened it and never have used it. If you can use it I will send it to you. I obviously don't need it....it has sat here for a year or more now.came home to find.little lifeless Silkie bodies scattered all over their pens......... The water buckets empty. ......i just filled them up that night and they always have lasted till the next evening. I normally check them but had to go close on my old house so i was gone most the day. All those years of breeding.....of joy and love....... Gone. I can only think that some of them started standing in their water and their feathers absorb a lot of their water.... I just don't know. I've had some of these birds for six years or so..... I still have a few......nd my bantams beside them were fine...just the Silkies..... I just don't know. I really just don't feel like doing this anymore.......
Well I would love to send the waterer to you if you could use it. I hate it to go to waste. I use those rubbery pans from TSC and have two per pen but mine are out and about during the day so that helps too. If you want it pm me your address and I will get it out to you.Thankyou everyone. I've not cried this hard since Sophie died......
Sadly they were in two different pens..... All my blacks and most of my Splash. My Cuckoo, reds, whites and blues were fine. My black Silkie sitting in a covered box on eggs who hasn't moved in forever is fine and she was right next door. Just don't know......
