So how many of us have AC in their coops?

If you do get them cable, I think they might enjoy Animal Planet

It's very kind hearted of you to help out your birds with the AC - it is extremely hot there in Zona. I would do the same. Otherwise I'd just be worried constantly! Sad/sorry for the ones lost

Even here in NJ I can't rest being comfortably cool if those in my care aren't. I know at least one BYC member who lives in NJ who has AC for her birds. I have fans which have worked well thus far but in extreme temps have brought the few birds I have into my house till the worst weather subsides...if I had more birds (thus making it impossible to bring them indoors) I would have AC for them for the heat waves, even if I didn't have it for myself. They're just not 'built' to take crazy high temps....

I know a lot of the country has had terrible heat this season so far and I hope it subsides very soon......

Any improvement in egg production? What temperature do you have the thing set on? If you have a large enough space cooled already for the hens, maybe you could keep rabbits in it also.

I only have two laying and they each only give me an egg every other day.

I don't know if it's doing them any good, as I lost another pullet and one seems ill.

AC in the house just went out, I was out tripping breakers. It's 4AM and still 91 degrees outside.

DW and I are suppose to go on vacation this next week and now I'm thinking I'll just lose the tickets (as they are non-refundable) and stay home. I can't bear to think that we'd be in Illinois or Missouri and our kids would be here without AC. My 17 year old is very responsible, I just don't know if I trust him trying to flip electrical breakers.

Add that to the fact that our washing machine just went out. A family our size has to do wash EVERYDAY. I'll call the electrician again tomorrow.

I'll wait till Tuesday to cancel hotel reservations.
