do you ever get chicks from tsc that were claimed pullets but turned out roosters?

Yes, the different breeds are in different brooders.. HOWEVER people play with the chicks and they can sometimes get mixed up. As for the sexing, they come from hatcheries so there's still that 10% error rate you have to deal with.
Nobody, ever, ever, every gets sexing 100% right. Nobody. Even if they are 100% responsible. TSC is what it is. A lot of marketing, a lot of fun, and whole bunch of chaos thrown together.
The only way I know of to be 100% sure of getting females is buying sex link chicks. I think My Pet Chicken probably sells them, and they will ship small orders, if your TSC doesn't carry them.
