So I am running an experiment... Day 3

You will only have the 6 eggs in it, correct? You might want to put some water bottles, or similar item, to help hold temp.

yes, 6 eggs, but I am thinking of putting some other eggs in there as well, just haven't decided yet. Too many decisions LOL

Yes it is, terrible!

The temp has held at 101.5 - 102 for an hour now. If it continues to stay there, I will set the eggs this evening.

The one thing I would do differently is bring the temp down to around 100. I know most people say that you need 101.5 degrees in still air, but I have done this, and my eggs have all hatched at least 2 days early, some 3. Only 1 or 2 have hatched 'on time', but considering how early the others were, these should probably be considered late.

Well I put the eggs in the 'bator and the temps came down to 100 and are holding there. Eggs have been in for about an hour, and the temp hasn't gone above 100.

This is the end of day zero

We are now on Day 3. I haven't started to candle the eggs yet, as I am sure I won't see anything obvious at this point.

Temps have held steady at 100 degrees. I did add a teaspoon of water yesterday as the wells were looking a little dry.

Yeah no need to candle yet...give it some time...the less you mess with them, the better...sounds like its going great so far!

good luck coming your way!

I went to Home Depot yesterday and found some small digital thermometers with humidty on them for about $8.00. I bought two. Put one in my brooder and one in my LG, when I was sure that the temp was the same as my good thermometer I took it out and put it back in my freezer. The thermometers are in the Garden section.
