So...I got a puppy today....Updated Today, August 22!

What a cute dog! Looks like he'll be a nice blue for you!

We have a heeler, and they are definitely not chicken killers in my experience. Raise him around chickens and he'll be thinking they are HIS! LOL Ours is very protective of the flock, and always keeping an eye on them. If he hears squawking, he goes a running to the barn! A few times we had visitors bring their dogs and our guy gave them the evil stare every time the other dogs got too close to HIS animals.

Good luck and make sure you socialize, socialize, socialize! Heelers are definitely a one person dog and they can be a bit "growly" at strangers. We usually have to put ours in the garage if we know we're having company.

Ohh.... how sweet!

I cannot understand why someone would dump puppies like that!

What happened to the other pups?

My heeler is good with any animal.

So adorable and glad (or sad) that I am not close to nab one of the others.

I thought I'd post some updated pictures of "Hank."

He's really grown a lot! His ears are finally standing up, too! He comes when he's called, sits, shakes (either paw), rolls over & plays dead. He's really smart but certainly has an ornery streak! He is about 90% potty trained. Oh and we're still working on respecting the other animals. He tries to get the cats to run so he can chase them. Unfortunately for him, the cats are all smarter than that & slap the crap out of him (most of the times WITH claws) and he's learning not to mess with them. I don't let my chickens out so that's not an issue but he's learned to fear the geese!

Because they are turned out when I'm home and they don't care for him!

Hmmmm....I wonder where Zach's glove is?
