so I got my incubator...

    It really needs to be in a draft free place with as little temperature variation as possible. The location you're proposing doesn't sound like it fits that description.
    I don't know your house so I can't suggest an alternative.

    we set ours un in the spare bedroom....one of the coldest rooms in the house, and no heat in that room so I put in a space heater. There are no drafts in there...and it must have worked, we had 2 hatch yeaterday and are now in a brooder in that same room and I turned up the space heater so now that room is the warmest in the house. I vote for the spare bedroom if you can wait that long (till son is moved out of it)
