So I have found the most annoying species of dog

Sad I caught up. I’d have loved to have him without excuses about this that and whatever. Funny thing is I’ve worked for a charity for years and we take on so many rescues, and then you get the one, you really want to help and it’s always too late. 🤷🏻‍♀️😒

We aren't keeping him. We have no job for him but chicken and cat killer. My wife lost interest in him at that point. Fortunately Franklin Animal Rescue and Transport seems to have an interest in him. We sent off his photos and vet records today. He has such a wonderful face and disposition after being removed from a chain I had to cut off him. It was amazing he was only HW positive. So cheap to treat. It is very much a discouragment to me that I can't fix a broken dog. View attachment 2147310
Hey, you saved him and now you're doing right by him, and that's what counts. You've given him the opportunity to become a great dog for somebody, even if it's not you.

He is still so headstrong and broken. I think he is just going to rehabilitate a bit with us. Plus learn to reliably follow commands before we move him on to a deserving home. This boy is too smart for his own good though because that is what gets him into trouble. It is amazing how well his hearing has improved with a beeping vibrating long range "training aide". My wife still wants him gone, but I can't give a dog with food aggression issues on to another person until he is fixed of that. :fl

This morning I fed him and he was even aggressive towards me not to mention the cats wanting to muscle in on his food. So he is a salvage operation in training. Also I do not want to put him down just because other humans screwed him up. I know we will lose more livestock due to his boisterous enthusiasm, but feel he will make someone a great companion with more patience on our part.

Time will tell if I am just stupid or not.
