Hi I'm a new member. I have had 3 hens for a year and a week ago a hawk took my silver lace:(
I went to a local breeder and bought a golden lace, Americana, speckled suixx. He gave me a 3-4 month old Batam rooster! That may be the wrong spellings on some of those! I also bought from tsc two ducklings!!

Sorry about the hawk :( That's really sad.
I have two ameraucanas and I love them! As long as you make sure to hold them a lot they become very friendly (and comical)

Plus, their eggs are beautiful

My friends have bantam pullets and they are so adorable, they will sit on you shoulders like small birds. (Even though my ameraucanas do the same thing, they are usually less graceful about it!) I have also heard that speckled sussexs are very sweet, although I have never owned a golden lace or a speckled sussex before. Good luck with your flock!

Hello and welcome to BYC - great that you have joined us.

As you have already received some links to some good starting points, I will just wish you and your little ones all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
