My D'Anver went broody weeks ago AGAIN, second time this summer. First time she sat like a stubborn chicken on that nest hoarding all other eggs because none to sit one. I have no rooster so no eggs to incubate. Felt bad for her even though I do live in a city and not too much space. WELL with second time I decided to give her very own egg and not take it away. Just for kicks went to this Amish store I know, picked out literally ONE, count ONE egg. Lady didn't even know if the rooster was among the chickens that were laying those, and showed it under the chicken.
On fast forward I am cleaning coop today, I check out the egg, which I have been smelling every day to see if it went bad. Guess what, IT HAS A CRACK FROM INSIDE OUT! AND IT IS CHIRPING!
So guess what....against these odds mama chicken is getting her baby chicken finally. I am excited. I have no idea of breed, all I know my whole flock is banties but this one will be full grown so we will see... :yiipchick
