So, I went to TSC to pick up a bag of grit...

...and came home with a new Chick Containment System, otherwise known as a portable dog pen. It's pretty awesome - four feet high and sixteen feet around. The ladies are loving it, as they've pretty well outgrown their lawnmower-box brooder. It was "Peep peep peep... hey, wait a minute! We can run around in here! Woohoo!"

Never mind the disaster that is my garage.

I use an x-pen too for my younger birds. I also put it next to my hens pen during the day so they can see the babies and get used to them.

I did, actually! I'm sort of shocked, because usually when I'm distracted by a bright, shiny object I totally forget my original goal.
