So is Frizzle a GENE or BREED?!?!???

There is actually a breed called a frizzle, however, with 13 color varieties and in both standard and bantam. I don't know if they're recognized here in the US, but Google "the frizzle society of great Britain," they have a whole site about them.

Frizzle gene is dominant. If both genes are frizzled an extremely frizzled bird if only one gene present frizzled to varying degree.

Ok, I have thought that Frizzle what a gene, not an actual breed. I know there is a standard for a frizzle, it has it's own category for showing etc. So does that make it a breed?

Please help me understand this.

What country are you in. In some countries (not the US), frizzle is a specific breed. In the US it is not. Frizzle is the name of a gene that causes frizzling; frizzled birds are recognized for every recognized breed and variety in the US by both APA and ABA. The frizzle standard refers only to the frizzling of the feathers, not to breed or variety standard, which still apply.
