I had a quiet moment with Jonas (who's 7.5 weeks old) and got so e nice pictures.Can you tell me what you think the gender is? There is no crowing but he/she clucks and makes sure the smaller birds stay safe.

Cockerel. Start watching for male specific saddles around 12 weeks.

He will crow when he wants to. No sooner, no later.

The farmer I got him as a baby chick from agrees with you guys. He took him back to watch over a flock of hens on a big farm. If he turns out to be a pullet I get "her" back.

That's nice that you had a place to take "him" and could get the chicken back if a hen.
