Its funny how often people insist that hens can only lay one egg per day. My first experience with my new pullets laying was for my little silver-laced wyandotte to pop out one egg at around 10am, then another one around 1pm. I thought maybe it was the other pullet and it was just coincidence that they decided to lay their first egg on the same day. It turned out that one of my three "pullets" was a roo, and the other was a silver phoenix, and she didn't lay her first for another month or so. It was white-cream and totally different in shape and appearance from my SLW small brown egg.
