So much food waste! HELP! (Pic)

Omg chickens are so messy and wasteful! Any ideas on how to make this better. I have trays below to catch the stuff hey throw out but I feel they are still wasting so much. I have a few that literally throw the food out! Darn ! Lol

I have seen on Pinterest that you can make feeders out of PVC pipe that prevents a lot of the food waste. Chickens naturally scratch the ground when they eat, so they kick the food out.

Well there are several options that take very little effort for you to make. Here are some of my ideas!
This is something a little simpler, for less chickens:
This option is a good idea, because they can't get in it and scratch it all over the ground!

These ones are a little bigger, and can store more food which can be really convenient when you have to go on vacation, or leave them for a little awhile, this one also feeds more. (same basic plan though)

Here is another option, which is good for conserving food... If you they get access to grass, clovers, bugs, then you can close this up for a couple of hours during the day for them to forage for themselves, then you can open it up for them later...

@BirdGirl2004 and @HuskerHens18 - with the pvc elbow feeder made from the trash can, do you cap the holes at night to keep rodents out? (I'm making aart's feeder because I can just pop it into a metal trash can at night)
