So much for being nest box trained

My Hamburg hens also all use one nest (5 of them) so I have just left them one nest. They will wait for the first to finish, but not so patiently. The next in line is always pacing back and forth and yelling at the hen in the box to hurry "BAAAAAAK!!!"

Great stories, my black lab and I sat in the barn the other day and for the first time ever, I got to listen to my two girls lay their eggs. My dog would tip her head and listen to the prehistoric chicken grunting, and the loud crowing and screeching afterwards. I could tell by the sounds that they were either in the nest together or one wasn't being very patient waiting for the first one to get done laying. They free range and the barn is a fair distance away from the house so I've never heard all these sounds coming from my sweet little girls, it was a little alarming.
