So no kidding, that's why we eat them?

No wonder oysters are so delicious. They're HIDEOUS!
And my third grade teacher would probably have been a delicacy.

I remember Grandpa and his brothers did butcher feral cats and sell them as rabbits. The people that bought those cats said they were delicioius! I can not say if they tried it but it sure did put a dent on the cat population in the section of their town LOL!

UGH!!!! BAD Grandpa!!!!!!!!! BAAAAAAAD!!! :smack
What was the matter with him to do that??
I am SOOOOO not trying rabbit meat now.... thanks grandpa EweSheep!

I think the brother-in-friend hasn't really thought about his argument. He's just thinking that we don't eat pets and he believes our pet breeds are attractive. He's obviously never had a non-typical pet before.

I think comparatively, goats aren't that good looking and are very tasty. Yet they are almost exclusively an immigrant food. Americans hate snakes, but they aren't considered part of most menus. There's no sound bite logic to our diet. I don't think I'd ever eat an American horse though, because of the variety of unknown drugs that might be in them.

It was during WWII time when things were pretty hard living, they did that to support their families by doing it and getting something to eat (other than cats)...if Grandma knew if the "cat-rabbits" was what she served her own family, she would have knocked his noggin with a rolling pin!

I love rabbit meat, the domesticated ones. The feral rabbits were too gamey for my taste, and skinny as they could be.

Now pheasant, I would love to try some!

Turtles, squirrels, delicious when properly prepared. So are alligators, emu, ostriches.....yummo!

Mmm, rabbit, squirrel, alligator, and rattlesnake are all on my list of "food to try". I had a cousin relation that raised rabbits throughout the Depression to feed his family. I'm not sure I could eat cat.

Yep, and he's also one of those people that tends to blurt stuff out before really thinking it through. Aug! I didn't even think of that about horse! Makes me think of all the stuff that gets pumped through laying hens on commercial farms. It's just one more reason to raise your own food.......
