the last one we had turned mean on us though, so we ate him!
Know that story. My roo now is a BO and he's gentle. I don't pick him up, (except for when he was attacked by a fox and needed care), but I've had mean ones and if they don't shape up, they're history. No nonsense with that.
And I'll leave the little ones fenced in and netted on top until they're a couple months old.
