So Plans are...pretty much done. Introducing The *REAL* Chicken Bus.

Well it's going to be occupied in short order so I don't think we have time to paint it up fancy.

Need to get a thatch up over it soon though. First for rain and then for shade when the dry season hits. We'll be hitting temps in the triple digits coupled with high humidity and it's hard on birds (and horses).

Nope, got a lot of rain last night so the ground's too soft to move the trailer. We should be able to put the partition up in the front I'm hoping. I didn't ask Juan if it was secure enough to enter yet.

Well the rain continues, so the boys worked inside today.

Juan is actually a little annoyed that this is becoming a chicken house. It's in really good condition and he thought it should be saved to put staff in. This however is what we have and it's paid for as opposed to a roof we would have to buy.

That's awesome!!!

I made a camper w/stroker engine out of a 1966 - 66 passenger bus years ago!!!

With all the property I have now, I would love to do the same thing you are!!!

Looks cool!!

I love to recycle!!

Joe

It's done except for the thatch roof.

Community laying bench. I kept it simple so if they don't like it it will be a breeze to change. I think they'll take to it though.

That is so cooolllll. When I tell folks I have chicken friends in foreign countries they're like. Wow really?

That is an ingenious idea. Very nice.

Thanks. I've been driving Juan crazy. Tonight we'll let the chickens go into the Favela and then move them over after dark. Then I'll shut up and give him some peace. lol I'm really happy to have a safer place for them to sleep and I'll be able to go back to locking my dogs on the porch at night.(which is much safer for them) They really did do a great job keeping night predators out of my yard though. Extra treats for them tonight.

Sing along: The chickens in the bus go "Cluck cluck cluck, cluck cluck cluck". Okk.. I LOVE it! I like the thatch idea too. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Are you gonna put a run underneath the bus?
