If I'm out with my chickens than it's a pretty good bet that I have Lil'Bit in my arms. For those that don't know about Lil'Bit, she is my tiny dark brahma that would probably be dead if I hadn't stepped in. She gets seperate feedings and my protection from the others during the day, although she still has to deal with them at night.
Yesterday I was sitting in the yard and she was on my lap. One of my higher ranking light brahma hens decided to jump up in my chair while Lil'Bit was sitting there and Lil'Bit pitched a fit! She started squaking and pecking at the other hen's head and toes until the light brahma jumped down. It was probably just jealousy rearing it's ugly head, but I'm glad to see her showing some confidence.
