so ready for spring

Thank you for those tulips!

I am SO ready for spring, but there are a couple months left of this chilly, wet weather. Didn't mind it B.C. (Before Chickens) because I could hibernate, but now I have too much to do outside.

4:40 AM Central time... still have 2+ feet of snow on the ground... I can't wait for warm weather, but in a way not looking forward to spring. The ground was saturated going into winter (which I have never seen in the 21 years that I lived here), got plenty of snow, bracing for the flooding. I think it's going to be really bad. Bought a new sump pump to keep as a spare, I think if ours goes out in the spring there won't be any to be found locally.

We, in GA, here at 2000 ft in the mtns, have over 9" and it's still coming down. This is the second big snow in two weeks, highly unusual for here. I've done snow in my life in Ohio, Utah and Colorado and I don't want to see it ever again!

Usually, by the first week of January, the daffodil bulbs break ground, but I haven't seen the ground to know if they did this year.

See the little hexagonal coop out there on the left? There is a broody with five chicks in there.

I'm sooooooooooooo ready! They got a couple inches this morning less than 30 minutes south of us and we didn't get a drop....yet. They are calling for more rain, snow, freezing rain for tonight.

On a good note I did see some daffodil sprouts (is that the right thing to call them?) yesterday by the wood pile so maybe it isn't to far away.

*shiver* I second that emotion.

Why is it that the igniter on your furnace waits until the fluke (for here) snow/ice storm to go out? And why does Murphy insist on your furnace being the flukey (sic old and cheap) one that does NOT accept the "Universal" replacement? I'm really starting to hate Murphy... but at least my anger keeps me warm.
