We have 8 BA hens that were also born in March. They have just recently started laying and not all of them are laying yet. Our friend who split the order with us said none of his are laying yet (same kind from the same shipment.) Just give it a little more time. We have had 2-3 eggs per day for the past couple of weeks and had 4 for the 1st time today. We have 8 pullets and 1 roo. I bet yours will start any day now also.

the suspense is killing me.....I know I have to be patient BUT......I keep the nests fluffed and ready, all they do is sit in them briefly or ignore them.....I know they have been sitting in the one nest with the wooden eggs (hint, hint) - all they did was gt my hopes up. I think if my neighbor see me sitting by the chickens with "THE" bedtime story or reading recipes to them, they'll call the people with the little white jackets....

But I'm not sure if it's not worth a try......

a watched pot never boils, a watched chicken rarely lays (when you're looking)... be patient. That first one is SO worth it when you get to hold it in your hand and admire what God has done!

Im with you crtrlovr. The chickies will lay when ready and they get so excited when they are the first. When my orps started laying, the girl that laid first, did a major dance it was funny.
Be patient it will happen.

It's hard to wait... I can feel your pain also. I have 14 pullets that are on the edge of laying age but I still have to buy eggs from the store... blah...
