Interestingly I’m American and use the British spellings a lot. Probably because I read a lot of British lit. It actually caused problems in Highschool because I’d accidentally use the British spelling and teachers would take points off for incorrect spelling. Some were nice about once I explained: others not so much. One teacher thought it was hilarious and would always point them out but not take points off.
