So....talk about.....CANCER SUPPORT THREAD !!

Uh oh, I think one of my new babies is a boy. Drat. I'll post a pic of them later today, you guys let me know what you think...........

I think she has a girly face but that might be me wishful thinking. This baby's comb is HUGE for her size.

I see the surgeon on Wednesday, then I'll be starting the radiation sometime in Sept I guess.............The big turning point for me will be Wed Aug 25. That date would be my next chemo if I were still doing it. After the 25th I should start seeing some hair growth or something different happening!

Thank you all for being my thread buddies!

I'm so happy you are done with the chemo. My radiation will start sometime the first of Sept. Just two more weeks of chemo for me. I can't wait to see yor hair come back. My whole head has hair now but its like no where even close to needing a comb. Seems to be the same color.
I started losing my hair on April 12, shaved my head. My hair is growing slow, slow, slow.

Hi Luna,

Finally got some rain. Started to make some tomato sauce and get all the garden produce frozen for the winter and half way thru the power goes out

. I was out until 5:30. The whole peninsula and island were out. Nothing was open. No banks, gas stations, grocery stores, nothing. You would think that here in Maine they would be prepared for these things. Nope.

Very frustrating.

Anyway....... Did you get a chance to see the meteor showers last week? DH an I layed out on the deck a couple nights and watched. He said he saw the northern light but I think he has too much to drink
gig.gif
cause I didn't see them. "Yeah there it is, see that glow?" "Honey the only thing glowing is you".

Saw a lot of shooting stars though. Wished on every one I saw. Can share the wishes yet but I will say you were in my thoughts those nights. Coyote, S@r@ and everyone else fighting the good fight were in my thoughts. Can't hurt.

The moon flowers are stretching to the moon, now if I could get at least one flower so I can take a pic for you we will be all set.

Hope you have a good week.

Good morning everyone, I just found out about this place to hang out and chat.
I have liver cancer and I am on my third cycle of cemo. I have two more cycles to go and then another Pet scan. I am praying It shows this nasty thing is going or gone away.
I have not lost any hair yet, however my hair is not growing at all. The only hair that keeps growing is on my face. Now why is that? DRAT!

It is really great to have a place to talk to other people that are going through the same thing as me. The only people I have to talk to are the folks in the cemo room, and most don't talk much. I hope to be able to visit each day.

When I get the three hour two bag cemo, I get really sick. It last about four days and is a real pain in you know where. Is any one having the same problem?

Take care all and hang in there. We can beat this.

Hi Pati! Welcome!

I think there are different chemo drugs for different cancers. You haven't lost your hair? Only a very few don't lose their hair! You may be one of the lucky ones! I'm sorry you get sick though. This isn't during the chemo is it? Usually it happens after a 48 hour period. I lost all my hair 12 days after my first chemo (if I remember right)

Nose hairs, eyebrows and eyelashes, leg & pit hair - all gone. Even downstairs! I didn't ever get sick though. Maybe it was my attitude, or basic health - not sure.

You are almost done with the chemo! Yay! Let us know how it's going for you and we can help as much as we can!

Hey Pati! I lost all my hair except Eyelashes and Eyebrows. Still don't have to shave the pits but maybe once a month, legs maybe twice. My head hair came back with a vengence!!! Thicker and back to being curly again. I don't have to style it. I jumpt out of the shower, towel, shake my head, DONE!

I'd have my 6 hour 3 bag treatment on Thursday and
sickbyc.gif
when my eyes opened on Sunday morning. I'd be like that for the next week. Following week I wouldn't be
sickbyc.gif
but just tired all the time. The following week I would start to be feeling better and then it was time for the next treatment

There are a few of us going through this crap. I think the biggest thing is attitude. If you think it's going to get you, it will. Me, I'm just to mean and ornery to let something like this take me out.
