Great news Ginny!! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
Just getting back to NJ and checked in to catch up!

Quote:Thanks...Samantha - kitty - vets aren't sure what's wrong...Hoping she'll be alright. [IMG] Had a vet come to the house to check her out since she loses her mind with a ride to the vets (and had had 2 of those the week prior for various tests). The vet visit was a bust. The vet brought her 3 year old - it was too much for Sam and the first chance she got she flew under the bed and wouldn't come out till she heard the vets car leave (they are soooooooo smart, cats).

We got probably a half foot of rain last Sunday , 1st rain in eons. Torrential - I drove in blinding rain to the Catskills, where I've been till last night keeping a commitment to a friend (and in constant touch with Sam's best buddy, who watched her and for whom she ate nicely). Drought buster, that's me. It was great though, to have cooler weather. I really thought we were done with the heat waves but now another starts tomorrow and last all week...hopefully to break by the weekend.....Enjoy today before it hits! [IMG]

Hi JJ! I hope your kitty cat gets better. [IMG] Yes today will be a nice day to enjoy, it will be a bit warmer but that's OK it'll be better than Sun and the rest of next week - ugh we should be used to this by now. I hope we have a nice cool fall with sunny days and rain during the night when needed! Drought buster [IMG] - very clever. [IMG]

Thank you EVERYONE for the congrats on the blood test! I was busy the last day or two and had no idea until I lurked late last night and noticed all of you so happy for me! [IMG] You are the BEST support team ever. I honestly don't know how I would have gotten through this phase of my life without your support and encouragement. I truly thank you all from the bottom of my heart. [IMG]

I went to the beach in Asbury Park with my daughter on Friday. I was supposed to go with her last Friday but I had already made plans with my sister, so my daughter went with 3 of her friends and had parked her car on a side street not far from the beach. At the end of the day when she got to her car she saw glass shattered all over the street and noticed her passenger side window smashed out. She had stuffed her purse under the driver's seat (which had $150 I had given her for the dentist) her driver's license, credit card, cell phone, ipod etc EVERYTHING in her purse.....yeah the creep found it under the seat. The car door was wrangled a bit too. She flagged down her girlfriend and got to use her phone to call the police. The cop that showed up was still wet behind the ears (this is her luck) and didn't do what was supposed to be done to take care of the situation.....She wanted to call her cell phone to see who had it before it was shut off, the cop said no don't bother.....Well later in the day she actually tracked down her phone and called the police (again) and told them she found her phone! A cop went to the address and picked up her phone and brought it back for her. [IMG] They asked how she did it....(can't they do their job anymore?) her phone had probably gotten through 7 or 8 people before this old dude had it. That's my girl! Anyway - they arrested a guy the other day that lived on that street for numerous car burglaries and he's in jail with bail set at $395,000 with no option. They may even find her stuff - she will call them later to keep them on their toes [IMG]

So yesterday we had a lovely day at the beach, and her rental car wasn't attacked and we had some fun, it was a beautiful day and I got a sunburn [IMG] so a few more freckles should be sprouting soon. Asbury Park is a really nice city/town and is coming back (finally) except for a creep here and there, like any town you're gonna get a few of those undesirables.

I keep checking my scalp for hair - not yet. [IMG] when does it usually start? I know I had to get through the first 21 days and maybe another week or so, but I'm not seeing any signs. I hope those folicles weren't killed.

It can take a good long time for the hair to start growing, and sometimes the first of it comes in kind of downy and fine. Most of my cancer survivor friends had a little peach fuzz even with in a few weeks.

Cancer is becoming a thing we often can fight like a bad tempered dog for some months and then have a party! Even every year, things change and improve. The key is finding it early and jumping on it right away. Friend of mine died of stomach cancer, she was one of those who would not go in and would not go in. My uncle and aunt both died of lung cancer. Very heavy smokers and wouldn't go in and wouldn't go in.

I talked with a doctor last year who invented a surgery for previously inoperable pituitary tumors - he punches a tiny hole in the person's nasal cavity and goes in and gets it from the front with endoscopic micro-tools, even got a 1/8th inch vacuum cleaner made to clean up after himself in there, everything folds back up and he pulls it out through that same miniscule little hole. Person has a head ache for a couple days after and bye bye tumor! Then there are ways to choke off the blood supply to a tumor or even take some tumor cells and use them to create a vaccine against that tumor! Sometimes the chemo can be implanted so it only affects the cancer tumor and doesn't bother the rest of the body.

And there is a ton of cancer prevention going on - I don't mean the kind of 'high heeled shoes found to cause brain tumor' nonsense, I mean finding out exactly what chemistry causes the cancer to start and heading it off before it even starts.
