So....talk about.....CANCER SUPPORT THREAD !!

Kristy, Look up adrenal fatigue. It was rather eye opening for me.
Diet, exercise, and supplements.

I hope you continue to feel better. Problem with stress is it will always have opportunities to clip us from behind. We have to try to always be physically prepared for it.

That is a good point. It was just as if my entire system collapsed all at once. It was so rapid! I just sort of crashed after my step father died.

It's padding for the fall. You will need it. Don't worry about it now.

I am so sorry to hear about your struggles You have so much on you, especially being so young. A friend once said to me "They say God only sends you what you can handle. He must think I'm a super woman" It is so true and it sounds like the sentament fits you. You are in my thoughts. Hopefully it will not be cancer, and if it is, let us pray it is an easily treatable sort.
Thank you so much. Fingers crossed that it is nothing and if it is I have the best support team around and it is headed by God himself, noone can loose with that combinations!

Woo! Tests came back, I do not have tumors on my thyroid! I'm so happy. I do have a low thyroid, and high cholesterol. I have been tracking what I eat and the doctor agreed the weight gain is mostly from the thyroid and stress. I have cut back on chocolate though, lol. The cholesterol comes from the low thyroid. I showed him my diet. Besides eggs, I eat mostly low cholesterol foods and very little red meat. He said that peopel with a low thyroid often has problems with cholesterol. I have been put on thyroid hormones and cholesterol meds, and already I am feeling so much better, and the weight is coming off much easier. I dropped ten pounds in 3 weeks and I am no longer exhausted after just a few minutes of exercise. This is also helping with my emotions. I was depressed with the sudden weight gain, and I feel vindicated that much of it was coming from something medical. Still, I have been more careful about what I eat and making time for the gym. If only for one reason, it would be that it just makes me feel better. I will never get rid of the stretch marks from teh rapid weight gain, but I can at least get back my energy and the sense of control over my life.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME NEWS!

My problem is that with stress, I eat......... I've gained 5 pounds in the last couple of months.......

5 pounds! 5 POUNDS! in a couple of months! Seriously......I've gained freakin 30 pounds since June

I'm not kidding.....with all the steroids they gave me for the chemo, and the hormones they put me on to halt my monthly cycle, plus having NO nausea with chemo and stress/boredom eating. Oh, and the lovely Baptist church ladies who lovingly fed me and my family while I was sick--those ladies can cook!

My wife is steadily losinf weight. Sorry about your 30 lbs gain, at you have something good to blame it on

I have mastered the art of cooking comfort foods. I make a lovely smooth cream gravy that goes great on almost anything! :lau

Beth continues to decline. The latest changes to her symptoms indicate that the tumors have how spread to her brain.

I'm so sorry for the advancement. I'm glad you're doing good nutritional support for her, so many families don't master good cooking, they rely only on things like ensure to boost calories

Ya.

Sometimes all she will eat is Boost. Comversations have become interesting...... She will be talking then pause.....My youngest daughter (18) refers to it as "track skip"

I wonder if your wife might enjoy "Orgain", a nutritional shake lots of folks are preferring to Boost and Ensure. I finally got my (not well) parents to try it and they LOVE it. It is often better tolerated than most anything for folks suffering from one condition or another. Organic, lots of fruits and veggies in it but it tastes like a good milk shake (yet no milk in it) - they have chocolate (my folks favorite flavor) and vanilla and iced mocha (my favorite). And also strawberry but I haven't seen it in my area. I don't work for the company or anything :), just searched long and hard for a superior product for my folks and that's how I found Orgain. Has the others beat by a long mile for nutritional quality. Available at many Whole Foods, Wegmans and Rite Aid stores. Also available on line - Amazon usually has best price but sometimes Rite Aid beats them.Website is www.drinkorgain.com/‎ and they also have a Facebook page.
