So....talk about.....CANCER SUPPORT THREAD !!

Oh yes, some parts of NJ suck. Luckily I live in a nice area, not too far from the beach, not far from the pinelands - actually I'm in the central part closest to the ocean. There are also farmlands and we are known as a horse state too. Not too bad for a small state (except for corruption, but you get that anywhere). There are parts of Joisey you wouldn't want to go to - like up towards the airport area. And Coyote, I've been to Smithville and surrounding area on the hunt for the Jersey Devil. Interesting area. And a tad spooky.

I would love to visit Maine Vert! One of these days. I've been to N.H. And I love the NY State area. Paul always likes to go South, which is starting to grow on me, except Florida, I'm sick of Florida. There are some really nice places in Fla, I think I just had my fill of it, we have some family there but we would go down every year when the kids were small and had a condo on the beach which was nice. But I wanna see other places in this country.

Yeah, I like that smiley rant too.

Today I feel good too. It usually hits me later tonight and Friday I'll feel weird and dopey and achy in the limbs all into Saturday, unless something else develops to go along with that. Sunday I'll come around and Monday I'll feel like my self again. Anyway, I'm planning on that.

I was told by the onc nurse that most likely - down the road with this treatment - that the fatigue will be a big one for me. We'll see how right she is. Or wrong.

You and family are welcome to visit anytime. I have a itty bitty house but will find room for you to sleep somewhere. I am in a small town that doesn't even have a Main Street, but I am only an hour from the coast or about the same to the mountains.

I'm glad to hear that yesterday sounds like it went well, rest up and pamper yourself. (Somehow I think that might be your toughest task...you sound like an energizer bunny clone.)

I had to chase runaways in Newark once. Talk about scary!!!

We got to the building that the kid was supposedly hiding in and was told by this old guy setting on the stoop not to go in because we probably would come out on a stretcher. Camden is just as scary these days. Most deadly city per capita in the US. They want you to go to the casino's in Atlantic City, but they don't want you to see the the hookers and junkies just a block away.

I grew up in the far southwestern end of the state. 20min from the bay, 30 from the ocean, 45 from Philly. I know how to shuck corn and clams. Worked as a clam shuck on summer. I had biceps that looked like Popeye by the end of August, lol If we got sick and needed to see a "Specialist", we had to either go to Philly or Cherryhill.

Nothing beats a Jersey 'mater warm from the garden with nothing but a salt shaker.

I've never been to Main either. NewHamp, Mass, Vermont, and Conn. My folks went to Acadia Nat. Park and they loved it. Someday

Newark is scary! My cousin's son named his child Camden and she hates that name because the city is so baad!
Brick, NJ is gorgeous! I like allot of parts of NJ.
Maine is beautiful too! We spent some time in Kennebunkport 20 years ago-it was breathtaking! All of New England is beautiful in the fall-hate the winters though! Slush is yukky!
I like the part of Fl where I live-we have hills! We also have 72 degree rivers-it is nice when its 85-90 degrees.

Told my boys ages 10-30 that I could ride the tractor without a shirt like them boy they came unglued you're still our mother and you will wear a shirt. Never have done the topples thing. Just to chicken. Couple other cute stories I will post later
Cancer runs in our family too. In 3 generation on Mothers side alone 23 people have had cancer

Don't you hate that when it happens? I don't think you ran anyone off. After luna checked in, I bet everyone figured she would be taking it easy for a few days, so I know I got lazy about posting. But I think it's getting time for her to show up again.......oh LUNA? What ya doing this weekend?

Good morning vert. How are you? Yesterday we had a wicked thunderstorm and our power went out for a bit. The lightening was amazing!

Thursday I went to see my surgeon and he examined me and said everything looks real good. I'll see him again in August when I'm done with chemo and we'll set up the radiation therapy.

I have to tell you guys, I really didn't feel too bad at all this time. I was fine on Wed and Thursday, Friday Paul & I went out to lunch (I was craving tunafish) and we went to Target to get some dry goods and around 2 pm I started to get small aches in my face.

Not bad, just there. Especially around my eye socket. Strange. Then I did some stuff around the yard and took it easy. Then we had that cool storm and I REALLY wanted to run out there and experience it, but then common sense came to me and I stayed inside trying to comfort my poor old dog.

Today I feel pretty good too.

I want to go to the fabric store and buy stuff. My knees are a little achy today, but not bad, I don't like to take pain meds for every little thing, so I tolerate it mostly. Next Wed they check my blood again and we go from there.

Piecemaker - you didn't run anyone off! I wonder if cancers run in families or is it just so prevalent in our culture? It was never in my family til now. Go figure. Well, it's gotta start somewhere I suppose.

I am soooo glad that you are doing well.

You remind my of a friend of mine that breezed through her treatments. If something did come up, she just found another way to do whatever it was she wanted to get done. I wonder sometimes if attitude or just plain stubborness helps some patients have an easier time during treatment?

Thunderstorms...ugh...both me and the dog would have been under a blanket in the darkest corner of the house. Neither one of us does well at not showing our fear of them. I finished my finals this week for the semester and aced them all. That was a big relief. Graduated with my Associates on Saturday and my mom who is 83, attended the ceremony, now I am on to finish my Bachelors. I have two weeks to finish an assessment grant for the University regarding the needs of English Language Learners and then I am back in classes for the summer.

Get yourself to the fabric store!!!! Fabric is the chocolate of life for me.
