I've just started with my memory garden. I had one at our old house, but just haven't found time to plant one here. I have a weeping Pussy Willow for my Mummum Pangburn, Dianthus for my Granma Kwasnicki, Fire Flower-crosominum(sp?) for my brother who was a Fireman, Mexican Shell Fower for my Granma Kelly-she was a bikini wearing beach baby, lol. Plus Forget Me Not's for everybody. At the base of the PussyWillow is a statue called "The Weeper" I'll get a picture of it tomrrow. It looks like someone with their head bowed in sorrow.

I have planted one special garden in the front yard. It's in an old bathtub. 90% of the flowers are pink. This one is for Thelma and Louise.......left boob & right boob.

Biddybird, welcome to the funny farm. The best thing you can do for your friend is to just be there. Offer to watch their kids (if they have them) for an afternoon. Pick up a bucket of chicken, or maybe gift certificates for them go get something they like. I used to send silly cards to a friend of mine, and older lady that helped raise me.

Don't treat her like she is sick. Bleah! I had to set both my husband and mother straight on that one. If I don't feel good, I'll let you know, otherwise, stop treating me like I'm gonna croak!!

Coyote -- You are a pretty special lady also!!!! Your spirit and determination are awesome!!!

I hadn't thought about planting a "memory" garden per se, BUT there ARE plants in my garden that I associate with my Mom, my Dad (agapanthus that he gave me two weeks before he died), both of my grandmothers AND I have a Jade plant that was a start off of my GREAT grandmother's jade plant (BEFORE she died!!!!) - and I am 60+. I am going to be developing a new part of my yard -- I think that I will purposely create a memory garden!!!

Thanks!
Cindy

If it wasn't for Coyote's spirit and sense of humour, I don't think I'd be here talking to all you peeps. I LOVE the idea of a memory garden and I love the bathtub with the pink flowers for Thelma & Louise! Oh my, that is just so clever.

Admiring you Luna. Sooner or later, one of us will need to look this thread up so we can get encouragement and faith from you.

Thanks Luna. It's not me, it's the Creator and those around me that keeps me going.
